My Mindset as a Therapist
My practice is trauma informed. What that means is that I do not begin our work looking at “what is wrong with you?”, I focus on the things that have happened to you that lead to you feeling stuck and frustrated.
Maybe you have stories inside of you that you haven’t tried hard enough, that you are lazy, that you are undisciplined, or that this is a “you” problem.
…Maybe you just need a guide? Someone to help you get back on track.
I use visual mapping to help you trace back how you got here so that you can choose where to go next. Visual learners unite!
It would be an honor to help you map your way out
Hi! I’m Laney (She/They)
I have nearly ten years of experience in mental health, and almost five years as a therapist.
I am an avid gardener, dog enthusiast, and lover of nature.
I really enjoy working with folks that want to update their internal maps. What does that mean exactly?
Many times folks grow up and we need to fill roles for those in our family. The helper, the “good kid”, the quiet one, the rebel-
Sometimes those roles no longer fit us- and sometimes they never fit us to begin with.
My work encompasses identity, neurodivergence, gender, sexuality, and trauma. In our work together I aim to help you rediscover who you are and who you want to be.

Ethics and Values
I am queer affirming, gender affirming, ENM affirming and nonjudgmental.
In my work, I use the term “folks” to make space for and respect people of all identities. I will use the pronouns and name that best affirms you. Coming to see a therapist can be hard enough, I am committed to respecting, affirming and celebrating who you are.
I acknowledge that I am working and living on the land of the Santiam Kalapuya peoples.
